Moore College Students Invited to Visit
Dear Moore College student,
My name is Mel Fung and I am a first year student here at Moore College.
People with intellectual disabilities (e.g. Down Syndrome, autism and developmental delay) can be found living in every town and suburb across the world. It is estimated that 6% of the Australian population can be diagnosed as having an "intellectual disability" (recent Australian census).
However, few churches in the world attempt to reach out to this special population with the news of Jesus Christ.
Jesus Club is a ministry that aims to plant Bible study groups that cater for the needs of people with intellectual disabilities in local churches. Furthermore, we hope that in future we can equip Christians to teach and care for these special people by providing teaching resources and training.
Our vision is to see a culture change in local churches: so that in time disability ministry will be considered as necessary to a local church as children's ministry or youth ministry.
If you become a church worker in the future, you will come across people with intellectual disabilities. We want to help you to be prepared.
There are several ways in which we can help you to work with people with disabilities:
Observe a Bible sudy group first-hand
You are invited to attend a Jesus Club Bible study session and observe this ministry first-hand. Sessions occur every fortnight on Wednesday night in Gladesville. Please see below for further details.

Get our DVD
The DVD features our 2007 Christmas performance and includes a 7min short film that explains the need for disability ministry and Jesus Club's vision for the future. You may play this short film at your church to educate other Christians.
The DVD can be purchased at a special Moore College student discount price of $10.

Jayme from 1st year joined us and entertained us with her guitar playing.
March 5th:
Priya from 1st year came along and said she was amazed how much of the Gospel
the members had learnt.

Sophie from 1st year got right into the musical chairs and socialising with the
members.
April 2nd:
Moore College Mission week. Brave Jacey will be stepping up as leader.
April 16th:
Christian from 2nd year loved meeting the members and even walked away with a
flashing crab!
