At Jesus Club Conference 2025, our National Director, Josh Reid, stepped up to celebrate a year of God’s faithfulness. “The theme this year,” he began, “is Church Together.” And story after story proved exactly that.

Josh shared the five key outcomes Jesus Club now pursues — clearer than ever before:

1. Adults with intellectual disabilities encounter and follow Jesus.
2. Leaders grow as disciples through serving.
3. Clubs become vibrant, Christ-centred communities.
4. Churches trust Jesus Club as a reliable ministry partner.
5. Local churches become intentionally inclusive.

A highlight of the year was the extraordinary “Barnabas gift” given with the simple instruction: “Go and grow Jesus Club.” This generosity allowed the team to hire the ministry’s first Club Mentor — Rev. Joel Moroney — whose impact has already been profound. “He really had a knack of getting members to engage with Scripture,” one coordinator said. “A very inspiring man.”

Josh shared exciting growth: 24 clubs, a new one in Port Stephens, interest from Perth, Brisbane, Melbourne, Jersey (UK), and even Florida. “Churches are becoming more aware of the need for disability ministry,” Josh said, “and the Holy Spirit is prompting people to find us.”

Delegates agreed. One wrote, “Every year the conference inspires me to keep going for another year!” Another added, “We’ve shared key points with our leaders — this will shape our ministry all year.”

Finally, Josh spoke of prayer — the ministry’s growing heartbeat. A monthly prayer journal now gathers requests from clubs across Australia, reminding leaders they are not alone.

“We are so thankful for you,” Josh said, “and for your servant hearts.”
